OFF SNOW REVIEW:
The
Giro Chute is one of the most attractive helmets
in the under $100 range. It's clean styling is perfect
for the more conservative helmet wearers. The Chute
is a great entry level helmet, sure to please almost
any user. It does lack some of the features that
many of the better models carry. There is no venting
in the Chute. That will not be a problem for casual
users or for use on cold days, but the lack of venting
could pose a problem on warmer, sunnier days. The
inside of the helmet is nicely lined with fleece
and has some mesh lining at the top of the head
to help with the heat. The Chute has the standard,
padded Giro chin strap that will help prevent chin
chafing after a long day on the slopes. The ear
holes are small, but provide a remarkable amount
of audio penetration for good hearing. Comes with
the standard Giro goggle strap which seems to work
very well. Overall, a great helmet for an entry
level skier or a skier on a budget who doesn't need
all the venting features that come on the more expensive
helmets.
