Axis Performance Vital Stats |

OFF SNOW REVIEW:
The Boeri Axis series has
become the flagship of the Boeri line. When the
Axis Performance came out 4 years ago, it was
the most technologically advanced consumer helmet
on the market. That still holds true today.
The Axis Performance is the ultimate full shell
helmet. The helmet seems to fit a bit smaller
this year than it did in previous years, and still
remains true to it's fairly round fit. The Axis
Performance will fit most oval heads as well,
unless you have a very long head, in which case
you may get pressure on the front and back of
your head.
The profile of the Axis Performance is fantastic.
The shape is stylish and sleek, forget the days
of the old "bowling ball" helmets! The
colors this season are fantastic! My favorites
are the Patriot (go USA!), the blue shimmer and
the classic carbon. The goggle strap has been
redesigned from the old helmets and provides a
solid and safe haven for your goggles. Very easy
snap to use. The chin straps are padded to avoid
chin rub and the outsides of the strap are reinforced
to avoid excessive wear on the pads. The buckle
system is simple and easy to use with its' plastic
fast-tek buckle and single adjustment points.
The most technological feature in the helmet is
the Outlast technology. Outlast is designed to
help maintain a constant body temperature. When
I first heard that Boeri was going to use Outlast
(designed by NASA) I was a bit skeptical, but
I can now tell you that it is not a gimmick at
all, it's a fantastic feature. It really works!
I'd like to get a pair of ski boots with Outlast
now! The Axis Performance has simple venting,
just two scoops in the front and exit ports in
the back, but with the Outlast you will never
have to wear a hat underneath, even on the coldest
days.
To top it all off, the Axis Performance is CE
Certified and ASTM certified.
Overall, the Boeri Axis Performance is a top-choice
in the full coverage helmet category. I would
highly recommend it.

SNOW REVIEW
Now
this is a nice helmet! Like the elements of a
full coverage helmet, but worry about the issues
of weight and heat? Worry no longer - the Axis
Performance is a lower profile, full coverage
helmet, with all of the latest advances in helmet
manufacturing found right here.
For a full coverage helmet, the Axis Performance
is surprisingly lightweight. The shell design
is advanced in its appearance and construction.
The varying thickness of the shell eliminates
weight where it is not as needed, like around
the ears.
The internal padding is superior. Comfortable
and technologically advanced, the Outlast fabric
on the padding helps control your temperature.
Storing heat when it's not needed and releasing
it when it is, the fabric keeps you warm when
it's cool, cool when it's warm. And this stuff
really works!
Not only does the fabric help with temperature
control, but the venting system, although very
simple, is very effective as well. I like the
fact that this venting system does not have any
moving parts - that means that nothing will ever
go wrong where your vents are concerned. With
two air holes on the front of the helmet, the
air is channeled throughout the interior of the
helmet with several internal entry points. Two
exit ports in the rear keep the air flowing constantly.
With a padded chinstrap and a convenient single
snap goggle strap holder, the features of this
helmet are comfortable and sensible.
Holes in the shell and the padding make it as
easy to hear as if you were wearing a hat.
ASTM and CE certified, this helmet is a low profile,
highly advanced, full coverage helmet. This helmet
gets a top recommendation from me, and I plan
to wear it on the slopes all season.

WHAT
Boeri SAYS... |
 |
|
|
|

The
most popular Boeri Helmet we sell, the Axis Performance
ski and snowboard helmet addresses issues of heat,
hearing and weight better than any helmet in the
line.
The variable wall thickness shell eliminates extra
weight while the Outlast equipped comfort liner
works with custom chimney venting to shed excess
heat and provide Constant Temperature Maintenance.
Add large ear vents for excellent hearing with
superior added protection in a comfortable, low
profile shape and you've got the best!
Meets or exceeds the CE Standard.
