Giro Sonic Youth 2004 Manufacturer Description

Kids can't be fooled. They know what pros ride, and hey crave gear that performs and looks like the stuff their heroes choose. The Sonic tracks the style and performance of our Nine and S4 helmets, and it's dialed for youth.

Giro Sonic Features:

  • Construction: Proven, tough injection molded shell combined with a light, high-performance EPS liner.
  • EPS Liners: If it wasn't the best, we wouldn't use it. But 15 years of R&D experience and thousands of impact tests prove that EPS (expanded polystyrene is truly the best material for snowsport helmet liners. Why? Because EPS offers the most consistent performance over the widest range of conditions; gram for gram it absorbs more impact energy than other materials; and it's incredibly light. No other material offers all three benefits together, and nobody has more experience to prove it.
  • Goggle Notch: Every one of our helmets is designed to match-up with goggles for a comfortable, gapless fit. Our deep Goggle Notch is a simple detail that works in tandem with a security loop to keep goggles locked-in all day long. Because sometimes it's the little things that make the biggest difference.
  • Ventilation: 12 vents. Just enough to keep them from overheating.
  • Earpads: Non-removable, soft contour earpads are warm and comfortable - without compromising hearing.
  • Styling: Wide-angle cut creates a gapless fit with goggles and doesn't compromise peripheral vision.
  • Certification: ASTM F2040, CE EN1077
  • Weight: 18 oz / 510 g
